So I was pondering today and though to myself. What. is the deal with airline food?? haha just kidding. I was actually thinking about how music on wax came to be. I was recently lisening to one of my old favorite bands of "Motown", The Temptations. The music a flawless mixture of soft melodies and raw passion from the old generation. Definatly not saying that we don't have that now in this generation, but I guess it just appeals more to me because I grew up listening to it with my "Pops".
All that aside I have no idea how in the world somebody figured out how to put the music down on a record. I mean really, who was the guy that said "Hey lets see if we could take this music and put it on something so that we don't have to play it everywhere!!" I don't know why I assume the person that invented the records was in a band. Or possibly the manager of the band. Or had the bright idea to record onto wax, not some other substance like metal or plastic. But whatever. I mean I guess if you think about it now it's not really a big deal cause we have computers that do pretty much everything for us. With the MP3's and the DVD burner software. I swear give it another decade and computers are going to be able to take out the trash, make you a sandwich, pick up your dry cleaning, and wash your back for you in the shower with ease. And if you upgrade to "2000xtra plus" it'll get it done in about 5 seconds. Anyway thank God somebody came up with a way to capture music on records. If they didn't, where would we be? Probably in a more colorless world from lack of all the music we wouldn't have ever heard from around the globe.
